JMA Wireless Dome — Syracuse Orange
The JMA Wireless Dome, often simply called “The Dome,” is one of the most distinctive stadiums in college athletics. Located on the campus of Syracuse University, it is the largest domed stadium in the Northeast and the only major college football venue in the region with a fully enclosed roof. Opened in 1980 and renovated in 2020, the Dome seats around 49,000 fans and hosts football, basketball, lacrosse, concerts, and major university events. Its enclosed design creates an incredibly loud environment, giving Syracuse teams one of the strongest home‑field advantages in the ACC. The Dome’s recent renovations introduced a new roof structure, improved lighting, modern seating, and a state of the art sound system. These upgrades transformed the venue into a more comfortable and technologically advanced arena while preserving its iconic shape and atmosphere. The stadium’s location in the heart of campus makes it a central gathering place for students, alumni, and the Syracuse community. Whether it’s a packed basketball game, a high‑energy football matchup, or a major concert, the JMA Wireless Dome remains one of the most unique and versatile venues in college sports.
