History

The Classic Era (1991-1997)

The Classic Era contains all of the 2D Sonic games from the Genesis and Saturn era. Iconic games from this era inculd the ornigal Sonic trilogy, the 8-bit Game Gear games, and Knuckles Chaotix

The Adventure Era (1999-2006)

The Advenutre Era brought Sonic into the third dimension with the release of Sonic Adventure on the Sega Dreamcast. The Adventure Era is well know for it's multiple playstyles and focus on high speed action. Popular games include Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic 06'

The Boost Era (2005-2017)

The Boost Era Focused a long more on the fast past action of Sonic with the introduction of the boost gimmick in 2005 game Sonic Rush. Games of this era inclued Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, and Sonic Forces.

The Open Zone Era (2022-)

The Open Zone Era is the lastest era in the Sonic series it consist of running around a huge open world and collecting small items and finding boost stages within the world. Games consist of Sonic Froniters, and Shadow Generations.
