About Me

My name is Alexander Powell. I am a student at King's College and I'm majoring in Computers & Information Systems (CIS). I am anticipated to graduate in May 2024.

I'm passionate about new technology and I'm always excited to where the future of technology takes us, particularly in how we as a society will advance in the future.

Some of the topics that interest me the most are artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR), smart home technologies, and 3D printers.

I love to listen to music all the time. My favorite genres are classic rock, hard rock, and alternative. Some of my favorite bands are Green Day, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, and Billy Joel.

As of right now, this is currently my favorite song at the moment. But my favorite song of all time is Free Bird as made famous by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Some other things about me is that I'm practicing German and I'm learning how to play the guitar.

Education

I am a senior at King's College and anticipated to graduate in May 2024.

I've learned a lot about technology at my time at King's College. Some of the classes that I took while at King's include:

IT Methods and Procedures	An introduction to computers and information systems concepts through a hands-on approach
Data Communications I & II	An introduction to data communications in local and wide-area networks and advanced network protocols, wireless network-ing, network operating systems, etc.
IT Network Security	This course covers theory and practice of computer security, focusing in particular on the security aspects of the LAN and Internet.
IT Project Management	The course is organized around the project management processes defined by the Project Management Institute in PMBOK. The course reinforces the many skills such as data organization, file processing, database design and implementation, systems analysis techniques, and more.
System Analysis, Design, & Implementation	An introduction to the "top down" process of systems analysis based upon the four lifecycle phases of information systems.
Web-Based Information Systems	An overview of WEB-based technologies and the resources of making a website using HTML.
Human Interface Software Design (UI/UX)	An introduction to user interface and user design and how to design a proper user interface design.
PowerShell	An introduction to how PowerShell works and possible use cases for PowerShell in the real world.
