In the fall of 1998, a group of innovative students gathered. Their ambition was to creating a track club at King’s. After a great deal of work, their idea became a reality in the winter of 1999. The first group of 15 Monarchs athletes attended the indoor meet at Albright College. Amazingly, after only a year of organizing the small team attended three out door meets.

In the spring of 2000, King’s became more organized with a coaching staff and a full outdoor schedule. The program has progressed over the past five years, in which the team has participates in varsity meets. The team has traveled to Franklin & Marshall, Millersville, Gettysburg, Lebanon Valley, College Misericordia and Richard Stockton College.

The team continues to grow, and has made an impact at the invitational meets. There is a core of middle-distance and distance runners, pole-vaulters, sprinters, and throwers. The hopes of the members are to become a varsity sport as soon as we can. The dedicated members that we have now hold the team together, along with out head coach Sean Cryan. This program is small but growing by the year and is constantly looking for new athletes. The team works out at Kirby Park as well as Wyoming Valley West high school stadium during the spring semesters.
