Jankola Library

Jankola Library and Slovak archives is an American cultural center that specializes in Slovakiana and related Slavic interests. It is housed in the heart of the buildings that make up the Villa Sacred Heart and St. Cyril Academy. This is the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius. It is located on the grounds alongside Maria Hall, the Villa Conservatory of Music, the Villa Preschool and Diocesan Religious Education Resource Center.

The print collection is catalogued under the Dewey Decimal classification. The shelves list is color coded to aid bibliographers in identifying works published:

  • in the homeland - Czecho-Slovaki and Hungary
  • in the United States
  • elsewhere, as in Rome, Canada, South America, Austrialia, etc.
  • in the English language

In addition to the large print collection there are aslo audio tapes, records, slides, pictures, craft items, stamps and coins to name just a sampling!
