FallSERVE 2003

FallSERVE is a three-day service experience where students, faculty, and staff take part in various service projects. In the past year, 36 students and faculty/staff worked on projects in the South Bronx, Camden and Philadelphia. Two pre-trip orientation sessions and nightly reflections are held on site.  A post-trip Dinner and Reflection is also held.

CAMDEN, NJ

One group went to Camden, NJ. The Camden group stayed at the Romero Center at St. Joseph's Pro-Cathedral and took part in a program titled Urban Challenge. The group spent time in the Camden community helping with a variety of projects, such as Francis House, a drop in center for people living with HIV or AIDS, Bethesda Project, housing project for those transitioning out of homelessness, the Heart of Camden building projects and the group also assisted at St. Francis and St. Bart’s Soup kitchens.

PHILADELPHIA, PA

One group went to Philadelphia, PA. The Philadelphia group spent time with The Greater Philadelphia Food Bank, preparing boxes for the low income senior commodities program, delivered meals with the Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance and took part in craft projects with children at St. Christopher's Hospital.
